The media is still
unable to relate to, write about or consider women as people. Just
a few years ago, in an attempt to explain
the gender gap, reporters invented the
soccer mom.
We were supposed to get the idea that there was only a certain type of woman who supported Clinton and this was because she had children and was concerned with their education.
After weeks of screaming at the American public about how terrible Clinton is and how we should all hate him, impeach him or force him to resign, these misguided media mavens are convulsed with disbelief.
Here they have told us all what to think and doggon it, the polls tell them that we, the people, aren't buying it.
"Why?" they moan. Why don't they believe us? We are never wrong. We are experts. Why aren't they listening to our talking heads? Why won't the public take our direction?"
Calvin Trillin, writing for The New Yorker, has answered them. He agreed that there was an umbrage-gap between the American people and the press and considered himself representative of the majority.
This was because he felt the same way that the majority of Americans do as revealed by the polls.
Therefore, he told the media, what offended us was the Starr investigation and the document dump by Congress. He called the Sunday talking heads, SABBATH GASBAGS.
Of course the reporters and media misfits could not possibly accept this explanation, so they ignored it and went into full inventive mode to explain to us why Democrats would loose big on the 3rd of November.
Once again, they focused on "those women." Not all of them, of course, just a group that they could pigeonhole and disparage.
This time they picked waitresses. Not food servers (which would include both genders, you understand, only waitresses!)
They told us that these women were not going to vote for either political party as they felt that the election had no relevance for them.
They even showed us interviews of a couple of waitresses in a Texas Cafe, who announced on cue that they were not going to vote.
There. That's it. All women who wait table are not going to vote.
But no one has picked out any group of men who are going to influence the election. Strange, isn't it? Not really.
The media thinks of men as voters who are capable of independent thought. It portrays women as directionless fembots who vote in packs; vote the way their husbands tell them to or vote for the cutest candidate.
Those pious Congressmen blubbering on TV really are GASBAGS! Yes! and, brainless idiots in addition.
A widely held view as this joke of the week demonstrates:
"When you hear those sanctimonious Republican Congressmen moaning about not being able to watch television with their children because of the Clinton scandal, don't believe them.
"The reason they can't is because their children are back in their home state with their first wife."
In reality, the media is squirming because we are ignoring them. Not just women, but many men as well. From the moment that we elected Clinton as our President, the press has made of itself an arm of the prosecution -- the voice of a partisan witch hunt.
We've mentioned that S. P. Starr (Kennie) has announced to Chairman (youthful indiscretions) Hyde of the Judicial Committee that he "might" have some more impeachable material for them to consider.
With the press striking out in their attempt to influence the public and direct our vote, you can count on it. Kennie, will be directed to drop the second shoe just before the election.
Especially if the
polls show that the present trend continues, that is, that the Democratic
candidates are staying even or pulling ahead.
Right
now, Kennie's going after Web Hubbel -- AGAIN!
And the more the frantic gaspings of the press are proven wrong the more they insist on their omnipotence.
But we've got our marching orders and we must obey if we are to preserve liberty and justice and youthful indiscretions for all. All of us must, in the words of one wag, "vote early and often."
So go and do it! And while you're at it, indulge the media and take a WAITRESS to the polls.
