Seems that the most rychus, Bobby Barr of the House Judicial Committee, and now a Manager/Prosecutor, got knocked off his purity perch by that ol' devil sex.
Not only is he said to have had at least one extra-marital affair, but this stalwart (via political conversion) anti-choicer is accused by his second wife of paying for her abortion.
When campaigning for his Senate seat, Bobby claimed he tried to stop her from having the abortion. Tsk, Tsk.
We already know that the Chairman of the above Prosecution Managers, Henry Youthful Indiscretion Hyde, broke his marital vows for several years, and was a home wrecker.
And Larry of the Flynt has promised more revelations to come.
We have to ask here that if it's NOT about sex as the Repugnants claim, then why are they complaining through the media about the attitude of women's groups toward their efforts to remove President Clinton?
"Why," they bleat, "do women support this man who debauched a child, lied about it and prevented P.C.J. and all women hereafter from legal recourse and defense against sexual harassment?"
Hate radio callers take up the refrain by bringing up such historical characters as Clarence (coke and pubic hair) Thomas, Robert (how far can I put my tongue down your throat) Packwood and any and all executives past and present who may have dallied with a subordinate.
Their theme is that any executive that did what Clinton did would be fired.
To Repugnats, evidently, all Demogrog sex is bad sex and lying under oath, and all Repugnant sex is "past mistakes."
They have no understanding of the meaning of consensual sex. They seem oblivious of the fact that we women KNOW, at a personal level, the history of sexual harassment and discrimination.
After
all, WE LIVED IT. Some of us participated in the creation of legal
redress, and corporate and workplace education. Most
of us still monitor women's studies and current events.
We lived the past when "women in government" was an oxymoron and exult in the recent news that the five top jobs in conservative Arizona government are held by women. And, we've felt the sting of thorns along the way.
We can smile wryly and shake our heads when a foreign head of state, a leader of Christian worshipers, raves over VIAGRA and condemns women who use birth control.
And we can laugh out loud by the newest revelation that this same "leader" now approves of the "HULA and other Native Hawaiian sacred gestures" to be performed in services. One wonders how long it will be before Gypsy Rose Lee is canonized.
Trial is now going on to stop a website from promoting the killing of women's doctors who perform abortions.
Another trial is in progress brought by a girl against a school that allowed a boy to sexually harass her.
Hillary Rodham Clinton was voted the most admired woman in American and President Clinton was voted the most admired man.
DNA testing showed the Repugnant charge that Clinton had fathered a child by a prostitute to be false.
Hate radio was inundated with callers indicating their belief in the rumor and their disgust with Clinton. But following the test returns, no comment, nothing, zip. They were, however, indignant that Bobby Barr was outed.
Did anyone notice?
All the witnesses before the House Judicial Committee were sworn
in before testifying, EXCEPT for the two women claiming they had lied under
oath about sex and been punished.
One was a doctor and one was a coach but neither was sworn. Yet their testimony is often used to illustrate that lying under oath IS punished.
Today, January 14, 1999, the House Managers will bring their sexrated dog and pony show to the U.S. Senate -- "Only in America!" <sigh>
