| A question to
the Cheney/Bushies: What part of "We don't care if we all die as long
as we kill you," don't you understand? This
inane schoolboy threat of yours to several nations declaring that we have
plans drawn up to drop atomic bombs on them obviously will not deter terrorists.
We all realized that the threat of nuclear retaliation kept the cold war cold. Such threats had their place then, but this is now. According to the administration (and the media that never questions their pronouncements) the present action is against terrorist. Again, according to the administration (and the media that never questions their pronouncements) terrorists are willing to give up their lives and the lives of others just to kill Americans and Jews. What part of that don't you understand Mr. Cheney/Bush? Are you just trying to make us hot? Make us thrilled at the prospect of escalating a former war against terrorists into a nuclear war? Because of your atrocious bumbling already, many nations now see us as dangerous to the environment and terminally isolationist. Now you have caused them to see us as a nuclear rogue state and you've put Americans on a color-coded alert to maintain a continuous war stance. You aren't fooling all of us. We know the purpose of what you're doing. A top Nazi spelled it all out years ago in the Nuremberg Trials.
John Balzar comments that many Americans love swagger and Bush is getting away with high polls because of the face he puts on war. It's the way the questions are constructed that determines results. "In the marketing idiom of pollsters, we hear that Bush is a leader in the authoritarian Daddy mold, in contrast to the solicitous Mommy image of the Democrats." http://www.latimes.com/news/columnists/la-000016597mar06.column Meanwhile, all over the world, the Bushies have the best allies that money can buy but there are indications that the wheels are coming off the bushmobile. Even though our press obfuscates the facts and the administration withholds information from us, the Internet brings us reports from all over the world. We also have a few fearless columnists like Molly Ivins who has written column after column warning Americans about the former governor of Texas who was appointed to the White House by cronies in the Supreme Court. All the nasty things he did in Texas he is doing to the rest of the country. Now he threatens the entire world with nuclear war. In her latest column she has warned us again about Dubya's plans to use cute nukes: "We've Got a Chance to Say No" Tom Oliphant, highly respected columnist
for the Boston Globe wrote: "Man is the only animal that deals in that atrocity of atrocities, War. He is the only one that gathers his brethren about him and goes forth in cold blood and calm pulse to exterminate his kind. He is the only animal that for sordid wages will march out... and help to slaughter strangers of his own species who have done him no harm and with whom he has no quarrel... And in the intervals between campaigns he washes the blood off his hands and works for 'the universal brotherhood of man' -- with his mouth." 2002-011
