VIRTUAL "STRATEEGERY"

We live in a world that assails us night and day with information. The problem is that we have no idea if we are getting facts or getting screwed. We are told what is best for us to eat, how to dress and which jobs are the most prestigious.

Most disturbing of all is the political spin conveyed by the media, and our government's continued secrecy about things we ought to know about in a free and open society. Not that the government ignores us, no indeed. It is constantly serving up conflicting information by the manure spreader load.

Only a few days ago we were right on the verge of learning who sent the anthrax letters. Everything pointed to a disgruntled, homegrown Reich-wing terrorist using U.S.A. produced, weapon grade anthrax. Remember that the targets of the letters were Liberals.

Then in rapid succession, we read that 1) an Al Qaeda lab being built to produce anthrax in Afghanistan has been discovered and 2) one of the 9/11 terrorists "might" have had anthrax because a doctor remembers treating him for "a black scab." Message: "think Osama."

It's just a hop, skip and a jump from this to the "intelligence" coming out of Iraq. Here we are reminded that they are continuing the production of "weapons of mass destruction." And, we are given a retread evil-doer-of-evil, Saddam. Is this because they can't seem to catch Osama and need an evil face for us to visualize and stay fearful and uncritical?

At the same time, we are denied access to presidential papers and other facts under the "Freedom of Information Act" which has been dealt a severe blow by presidential order. We can't ask Dick about his energy policy and we are not allowed to ask Tom about "Homeland Security under oath, but he may tell us something informally, "just to be helpful." Watta guy!

To keep our fighting spirit up we are fed the likes of Tonya Harding and Paula Jones going at each other in a boxing match. These bouts are interspersed with the all out, knock down drag out, hissy fit, war of words and talent swapping between CNN and Faux Snooze.

There were some funny moments, like when the folks at Immigration slid off the ball. They approved the student visas for 2 of the 9/11 highjackers and that really got George HOT! And then Immigration let some Iranians have shore leave. That got John so riled up that he forgot to peek under the drape of the draped female statue at Justice. But, it gave us a chance to hear him explain why racial profiling wasn't profiling when it applied to his Justice department.

George very quietly signed a new campaign finance law which regulates soft money and then attended one of many projected "Patriot Rallies" netting $2M in soft money for the GOPsters before the law goes into effect. They call it "skinning the flocks" and "bringing in the thieves."

The target of an anti-terrorist raid in the United States by the Feebs last week was a U.S. Islamic group with close ties to the Republican party and the White House. Any old mosque for money, hey guys? Bet you scored a hellofalot more than Gore did at that tempest in a temple a few years ago.

Everyone in the administration is pulling together to get Osama or Saddam or whoever is #1on the White House list. However, don't have an opinion of your own, bushies, or you'll get "Parkered" that means "Borked" for life. Take that you, whistle-blowers! And that! And that!

Do you remember former President Eisenhower's warning about the military industrial complex? http://coursesa.matrix.msu.edu/~hst306/documents/indust.html

When he warned us about it, it was a threat to our government. NOW THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX IS THE GOVERNMENT.

As "the Dick and George rev up their nuclear arsenal with new orders for different types of nukes, the economy begins to look better and better. Whoever said war crime doesn't pay? "Don't worry, be happy!" They pledge to "leave no child unbombed."

Let George practice his strateegery. He claims to see into each American voter's virtual heart so he tells them that he can finance Star Wars, and still have plenty for Social Security and all flavors of nuclear bombs. It's all part of his promise to "bring honor and dignity back to the White House."

George still has high approval ratings according to the media. However, if you visit any of the "lists" and other Internet sites that sell ads there is evidence that George's approval rating is slipping alarmingly. He's out on the net begging for support with constant, repetitive ads. It's really pitiful, but quite in character.
