| Well finally! Finally we are beginning
to hear about the sexual molestation of girls and women by priests. Ever
since this horror story of pedophilia and sexual contact with older boys
became exposed to public scrutiny, no one seemed to care about the ever
and ongoing plight of women.
Today on Wolf Blitzer's Sunday News program, a courageous nun told of how nuns have been molested by priests. Why do you think this has been covered up, and will people be as concerned for molested females as they are for males? Also, we are beginning to hear that molestation not only happens in the Catholic Church but in other religions as well. Sexual abuse of girls is something that has been going on for ages and when the girls protested they were called liars and punished for saying bad things about priests and ministers. Not to say that it is much better today. The revelations on the media by as well as nuns are hardly taken seriously. In fact, the embarrassment of the announcers is noticeable when a panelist brings it up and they quickly move to change the subject back to concentrating on sexual molestation of boys. It seems most people are willing to deal with pedophilic priests but would rather be kept in ignorance of what clergy have been doing to girls all these years. So too the much-touted summit of the Pope and Cardinals are seen to focus on pedophilic priests. This attitude is not unique to the clergy
in our culture. Quite obviously the important thing is the molestation of children, as it should be, but girls are children too, and that fact should not be forgotten. It appears that there is an endeavor to blame molestation of older boys on homosexual priests rather than get to the root of the problem. Mundus vult decipi -- "The world wants to be deceived." Are there others besides the administration that wish to deceive or be deceived regarding the events leading up to the horror of 9/11? The GOPpers refuse to cooperate with or instigate investigations NOW, but were quite willing to launch investigation after investigation on a small savings and loan bank in Arkansas for nearly eight years and millions of $$$. It might be noted that loss of life or terrorism was not the issue there. Representative Cynthia McKinney has courageously asked the now-famous questions based on information coming to us from many independent sources -- "What did the administration know and when did it know it." Just standing up for every American's right to know has brought on the ire of the rychus-ones. No, it's not popular to challenge an administration
when it puts the label of un-American on you, but we all must urge Congress
to investigate. We must know why. Why did 9/11
happen when our government agencies were warned by several countries that
an attack on us was eminent. Dr. Caldicott characterizes Pentagon militarists as "the most scary people" she has read of, and reports that the Bush administration is totally controlled by the private military contractor, Lockheed Martin.
In addition to increasing the nuclear danger, Bush is leaving pollution control up to the polluters. It seems he's well on his way to fulfil at least one of his campaign promises -- "to leave no child behind." Actually, the way things are going he'll leave no woman, man, animal or plant behind on the Earth either. Mundus vult decipi -- "the world wants to be deceived." It's time to bury this attitude. We must wake up, drag our heads out of the sand and throw the world's spotlight on: any institution that preys on both female and male children and all the parties responsible for the tragic events of 9/11. We MUST bend every effort to vote the Bush death squad out of office. 2002-017
