| The revelation
of things to come, prophecy and the way things are drive that which we
still call the news. World events pale in comparison and take a back seat
to the hours of car chases that inflict the cable news networks and MTV's
Ozzy Osbourne.
Every hour of the day, we are fed, with
mindless repetition, not information and facts but cleverly programmed
thought control. Really, if Faux News were fair and accurate, would they
have to announce it 20 times an hour?
It
is noticeable how redundant the media is when it comes to impressing on
us that Bush is the president. Seldom, if ever, will you hear just the
sir-name, Bush, used in a report. Instead the word "president"
occurs multiple times in most sentences. In contrast reporters usually
used just the sir-name Clinton when he was president.
There is a delightful exception to this
in the person of Margaret Carlson. She seldom calls the appointed one,
president. Indications are that there is a gradual softening in the hard
line dictated by Ashcroft who cowed the media by declaring all criticism
was aiding Osma and his terrorists. Slowly reporters are opening their
eyes and reporting more facts.
But the constant repetition is not by chance.
It is carefully planned to legitimize the "appointed" administration
and its propaganda machine in the minds of the voters. It's working too,
along with the constant repetition of Bush-photo-ops, military visits and
daily psycho-briefings to a bitch-slapped White House Press Corps eager
to please and well rewarded. "If
you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it people will eventually
come to believe it."
-- Joseph Goebbels We
should be very concerned with the possibility of future terrorist attacks.
It is essential that we discover how these terrorists got by our FBI and
other internal security. We must know why the numerous warnings from other
countries were ignored. A complete investigation of the 9/11 tragedy is
vital. The US Federal Bureau of Investigation
largely ignored an appeal from one of its field offices to investigate
suspicious pilot training by Middle Eastern men weeks before the September
11 attacks, FBI Director Robert Mueller acknowledged. The damaging admission
came as the beleaguered agency scrambled to fight back allegations that
it might have missed telltale signs of the coming tragedy. The episode
became the focus of congressional scrutiny over the weekend, when FBI officials
acknowledged that two months before the attacks an FBI office in the US
state of Arizona tried and failed to organize a nationwide probe of suspicious
foreign students attending US flight schools. http://sg.news.yahoo.com/020509/1/2p8ya.html Instead
of cooperating in the investigation the administration lackeys go on the
news show with red herrings. The blame for not killing Osama is constantly
laid at the door of former [and last duly elected] President Clinton. Instead
of testimony from Bush's Homeland Security butt-boy to our legislative
committees, we, the voters, are kept in ignorance.
What revelations would be forthcoming if
the Cheney/Bush administration stopped stonewalling the American public?
Surely we'd learn some needed contribution to our preparation against further
terrorist attacks, possibly proof that the administration is culpable.
Women must join enlightened men at the
ballot box and bring accountability back into our government. Our right
to vote is so precious yet it is treated so casually. Manama,
Bahrain -- May 9th: Voters cast ballots today in this country's first election
for representative bodies in nearly 30 years. It was the first time Bahraini
women were allowed to vote and run for office. "Let me in, let me
in!" shouted 80-year-old Maryam Mohammed Yousuf at a polling center
that failed to open on time. "As a loyal citizen, I've been waiting
for this opportunity all my life. This is a new birth for the nation, this
is very, very, very good." Yes, it is very, very,
very good, Maryam, but useless if women do not actively participate. Women
must be represented fully and not shoved aside by the Bushmen-of-war. Let's
all give ourselves a great and lasting Mother's Day gift by registering
at least 3 people to vote.
