FREEPSTAKES

Most voters have no idea of the sleazy content of the GOPer's bag of dirty tricks. People tend to think all the slimy stuff ended with Nixon who was as intent on being reelected as W is. That's why his thugs broke into the Watergate.

Which might not have been noticed except that a couple of reporters were sent to investigate a burglary. Then as now reporters seldom noticed political shenanigans unless they jump up and bite them in the ass.

And that happened in Nixon's case. Deep Throat and the whole nine yards spun out until Nixon resigned. That was then, this is now but the GOPers are still at it.

Today we experience the dirty trick squad from the many far right talk shows and the Internet. There is also the thinly veiled, but still poisonous FOX News which attempts to cover all Conservative foul acts with the patina of respectability while petulantly criticizing CNN and Senator Dashle.

The Bushie re-election mob's major thrust at present is to demonize every Democrat who is running for office, in office or retired, especially Clinton and his cabinet. They are Character Assassins Incorporated -- masters of the politics of personal destruction that they originated.

Even now as candidates are in the process of declaring their intentions to run in the Democratic primary, CAI is slicing and dicing each one. Truth does not count here. All they want to do is poison the voter's mind against all Democrats. Criticize their tactics and they will laugh and say you are a conspiracy nut, but Limbaugh and other talk programs, most cable news talking heads, newsgroups, lists and weblogs show a pattern of consistency that cannot be coincidental.

Everyone is on the same page playing the same tune orchestrated and directed by the White House re-election chief himself. Every time another Democrat announces that s/he intends to run for president, the knives come out.

Certainly not just for their performance or policies which would be expected and allowable discussion. No. They make personal attacks in each of their separate forums. These are brutal attacks also are meant to discourage listeners from running for political office

One arm of this vicious dirty trick creature, Freeps or Freepers, is still unknown to many voters but their deeds are ubiquitous. Freepers are a particularly noxious tool that the GOPers use to "fix" on-line polls so they favor the Bushies.

Freepers ferment in the rank and file of avid GOPsters on the Internet. They get their name from Free Republic, which encourages and directs their activities. http://www.freerepublic.com/

One of FR's links is "Freepers against voter fraud," the epitome of oxymoron and an indication of their inherent dishonesty and rampant hypocrisy.

Freepers are prime movers of the dirty tricks character assassination agenda and feature it on their web pages and in their chats. But their most loathsome and dishonorable job has been, and is, to corrupt on-line polls. They call it FREEPING and it has been going on for a long time.

Freepers roam the Internet looking for polls that they can freep to make them favorably to Bush. The URLs of these polls are listed on special sites so other Freepers may go and vote repeatedly. They also alert other Freepers to these polls through chats and groups.

This poll pollution may not appear to be harmful but it is. Most media have polls on their web pages and they announce the results of them in their news forums.

This can and does influence the average voter and is doubtless the reason why Bush continues to poll so well in the so-called "scientific polls" such as Zogby's. In addition, the casual surfer on the Internet may run across these polls and get a false picture of this country's opinions.

Although most voters are aware of the GOPer's dirty tricks in the last presidential election, few pay attention to the source [if one is given] of the polls they hear about on the news.

This activity of the Freepers demonstrates that voting fraud and dishonesty is completely acceptable to the Bushies and their supporters. Any perversion is allowed in their quest to re-elect Bush in 2004.

And these are the people who insist that "character counts" and "integrity is important." These are the people who throw mud at Democratic candidates with outright lies and half-truths.

Sweepstakes is a random drawing of one application out of many for the grand prize. Freepstakes, on the other hand, is rigged. The grand prizewinner is made a certainty by treachery. All Americans lose when voters are forced to choose their candidates from GOPolluted information.
