THE LIES THAT BLIND
| It's hard to
pick out the biggest or most heinous lies, but one near the top would be
the reference by Bush to "The Moment of Truth." Strange choice
of words since nothing is more foreign to his tongue than the truth.

Now that he is invading another sovereign state, we will most certainly see more misstatements, contorted evidence and outright lies. He needs to show that his invasion has merit.
Wartime lies appear to be forgiven if the war is successful, and are used to gin up a reluctant people to engage in war. Poppa Bush, before the first Iraqi war, told some whoppers. He claimed Saddam was killing Kuwaiti babies, for example.
We hear constantly that Saddam did terrible things to the Kurds. But seldom does anyone mention that it was the United States that encouraged the Kurds to revolt. When they did, we did nothing to help. We just left them swinging in the wind.
All through the Clinton years, the media continually charged that everything he did was done "to build his legacy" or "wagging the dog." Yet legacy is never mentioned in relation to Bush or suggestions made that his Iraqi war is a cover up.
A cover-up for the abysmal state of the economy, the unpopular tax cut, the raping of Alaska for oil, the violations of women's reproductive rights, the secrecy, the assaults on our Constitution, just to name a few items of Bush's "War against American Democracy."
Media criticism of Bush is left to one woman in her 80s in the White House Press Corps. Helen Thomas is the only White House reporter asking the hard questions and the hatred the Bushites have for her is formidable.
They fear anyone who is uncovering their secretes and trying to make them responsible for their actions. They fear any reporter or media mogul not wearing kneepads. http://www.buzzflash.com/analysis/03/03/14_press.html
Fawx News, always seeking to protect these secretes, often castigates Helen Thomas. Recently, they presented a skit showing a character representing Thomas asking a Bush character some questions. To shut her up, his aids shoot a huge dart into her neck and she falls to the floor.
This scenario was greeted by peals of laughter from Bret Hume and his Fawx News Panel "Fawx contributors all." "Where we report and you decide." "Fair and balanced news." A whole bloody TV cable staff in kneepads.
Fundamentalism in America is driving this war and Bush sees himself as on a messianic mission. This is the beginning of the holy wars of the 21st century. Fundamentalists rule in Israel and fundamentalists rule in Islam.
The Bushite lies are swords blinding the eyes of the people. Truth is sacrificed on rivers of oil. Death, destruction and armed occupation are the new ways to teach democracy.
