| Certainly everyone
knows by now one thing that makes the Bushites catatonic is to compare
their regime to a former dictatorship. It sort of started with their assault
on the Constitution and
exploded from there. Well, tough! Having heard their pissing and moaning
all this week, we just flat out don't care. (The German word "Reich"
means "empire.")
Look at what's been happening in America.
Note the similarities?
- Reduction of Constitutional rights
- Fostering of hatred and divisiveness
- Control of news and reporters
- Threats and persecution replacing free
speech
- Dissent prohibited
- One totalitarian/religious belief controlling
state
- Total secrecy in government
- Military/industrial complex given special
privileges
- Preemptive attack against another country
- Anti-women's reproductive rights
- Anti-gays
- Anti-intellectualism
- Anti-environmental protection
- Anti-religious tolerance
You all know how it goes. If you are against
the war then you are accused of hating the women and men in the military
and loving Saddam. If you vote against Bush's tax plan then you are accused
of helping terrorists or being one yourself.
Any expression
or opinion, contrary to the BushReich, from candidates or voters are fiercely
attacked with help from right wing braying-asses like Limbaugh who makes
it up as he goes along. These
are the enforcers, the SS of the Bushreich.
Penalties may be severe. They range from
threats of assaults on one's livelihood to harassment such as being placed
on the BushReich's "no-fly list." One's family and career may
be threatened. Often, the BushReich media reminds of us the evil of free
thought and free speech. Constantly, it tells us we have free speech but
we must take the consequences for using it.
Joseph Perkins, a devoted BushReich SS,
demands, "Anti-war activists should just shut up." He writes
in his column for The San Diego Union-Tribune, that the Dixie Chicks
are crying that Bush supporters are being really, really mean to them and
that one of them had the front gate of her ranch smashed in. He comments:
"It's about time that the American people started to hold left-wing
entertainers accountable for their words and deeds." Sieg Heil!
There is but one opinion allowed in the
world and that is voiced by the BushReich's controlled propaganda machine
led by the Gobbles-de-gook media of Fox and Rupert Murdock's.
Sounds just like
Hitler's Germany, doesn't it? SS bullyboys, Minister of Propaganda, preemptive
invasion of another country and everything! Dick
Cheney, Karl Rowe, Andy Card with Rummy and the rest of the military thought
police. Add the others and you have another deck of the "most-unwanted"
cards, like the one created for Iraq. But this deck includes the joker.
Oh, no, you say, it's not that bad. The
Gestapo shot people for voicing opinions. So right, and those of a certain
ethnic origin were placed in concentration camps. The difference in the
BushReich is one of degree so far. But, what will happen if this gang is
given four more years to intimidate a world with its powerhouse of weapons
of mass destruction including nuclear missiles?
And the similarity doesn't stop there.
You can't have your T.V. on five minutes without seeing Bush swaggering
and smirking at least once and usually 2 or 3 times. Now he is busting
in on the troops coming home, milking the honor and sacrifice from the
returning women and men who laid their lives on the line.
The constant use of Bush's picture on
the front pages of our daily newspapers reminds one of the pictures of
Saddam all over Iraq. And already, the monuments to Bush created by Rupert
Murdock's media whores have increase exponentially. Thomas
Jefferson said:
"Those
who expect to be ignorant and free
expect what never was and never will be."
