| "We
got him!"
Still, America continues to suffer under the savaging of environmental protection laws. Foul fumes from Midwestern factories clog our lungs, forests will be denuded by unrestricted cutting, a rollback in mercury regulations threaten countless babies and there are many more environmental insults to come. "We got him!" Still, the administration continues to stonewall the committee investigating 911 even as the 9/11 Chair Says White House Could Have Stopped Attacks. "We got him!" Still, the richest among us get huge tax breaks while the needy go deeper into debt and jobs are lost as corporations downsize or take jobs abroad. And, the most secretive administration in history keeps important information on its energy program from taxpayers. "We got him!" Still, a new health care bill looms over the heads of seniors who have a choice to be screwed by a wounded, increasingly ineffective Medicare or by private insurance companies. "We got him!" Still, our freedom is limited as the Constitution is increasingly clobbered by the Patriot Act. Daily it becomes more obvious that our safety does not lie in trusting this administration whose solution is preemptive war. "We got him!" Still, our mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, husbands and wives are being killed and maimed daily in Iraq. In America, a nation rich beyond belief, there are 35 million people living in poverty. "We got him!" Still, Afghanistan under our occupation is overtaking the former focal point of illicit drug production and trade, called the 'Golden Triangle' (where Myanmar, Thailand and Laos meet.) "We got him!" Still, the world is in turmoil. We are estranged from NATO and the UN. Most countries of the world hate and distrust us. We can never be safe with an administration that continually breaks treaties with the world and lies to us. Certainly it was to be expected that the media and the sycophantic monkeys who perform on it, would declare over and over that capturing Saddam cinched the administration's chance for four more years. What wasn't expected, should not be expected and is a total crock is the reaction of some so called Democrats who declare in voice and print, weeping and wailing, that all is lost now that Saddam is captured. Giving up and not bothering to vote is more potent than any capture of any dictator as a cause for influencing an election. Libs are angry and for good cause. They have some great candidates and they outnumber Cons. BUT -- nearly all of the Cons will vote. If Libs are already giving up and giving in a year before the election, majority rule will again be defeated. "We got him!" Still, if Libs give up, it could be that Saddam will, by his capture, hasten America's downfall. A downfall assured by four more Con years of endless six-gun diplomacy, wars and increasing environmental disasters.
