There
are always odds and ends left over at the start of a new year. 2003 left
a lot of them. Some will continue
into this year 2004. Where last year we were running up to the Primaries,
this year we'll pick our candidate.
During this pre-primary debate, we noticed how interested the Cons were in telling each Lib candidate what they were doing wrong and what they should be doing to win. Very solicitous of them, wouldn't you say? The most common suggestion given all candidates and Libs in general was to stop hating. We were told that the expressions of hatred would turn voters away from Lib candidates. Can you believe how helpful they are trying to be? It is almost as if they wanted us to win. As might be expected, whatever the Cons said, the kiss-ass media parroted incessantly. "Democrats must stop bashing Bush as it turns voters away from the polls," the talking heads piously proclaimed. Strange they didn't think of that when they used relentless personal hate speech and unbelievably personal hateful comments against former President Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton in their efforts to rev up their base to come out and support Cons. Even though Clinton is no longer president, the hate speech and name calling continue. Any Democrat is a target for derision. It appears there is no level of hate that they won't stoop to. Could it be that they really aren't being helpful at all? Could they have noticed that there is a groundswell of hatred rising up, bringing with it eager new voters intent on defeating those they see as menacing the country? Toppling Bush would also remove Cheney, Rumsfeld, Ashcroft and Wolfiwitz as well as many others who have contrived to advance policies adverse to life, freedom and liberty. Voters all over the country would rejoice. This administration has given Libs and Indies so much to hate that it would be criminal to suppress it. It's not just the "economy, stupid," it's clean air, clean water and a cessation of the flag-draped coffins from Iraqi-hell. So, rise up and hate the Patriot Act and the clandestine government you pay for but does not represent you. Hate its expansion of terrorism by the opening of ancient, traditional wounds in Iraq. Hate the lies, lies, lies. Hate the empty promises of safety. Hate the rape of our forest lands and pristine meadows. Hate the misuse of the Supreme Court to elect a president that mixes and melds his personal religion into affairs of state. Hate a government that answers every question with "9/11." Hate an administration that touts the Prince of Peace yet slips loose the dogs of war. Hate an administration that would expose a CIA operative out of spite and then "investigate" itself until the protests became too loud to ignore. This
country was given an eight year intensive seminar We realize that some people want to vote for a winner. So hate the polls and the continual declarations by the media that Libs cannot win. Be ever determined to spread factual information and have nothing to do with the hopelessness demanded of you by the Cons. The economy is lost as an issue for the Libs, they say. What economy? The one propped up by the military's pouring in tax dollars to airlines that ferry troops and supplies to Iraq and Afghanistan? The economy of lost jobs? Now the masters of hate and name calling have launched an attack on the leading Lib candidate. Listen for the word "pessimism" to be linked to his name as the media chimes in. Don't be faked out by the propaganda that Cons hate evil more than Libs or are more pure at heart. Stand up toe to toe with the Bible belters. Our hate and disgust of Bush's policies unite us. The only thing we have to fear is -- being out voted. 2004-001 Copyright 2004 Renee T. Louise and Ruth M.
