NOT ONLY HERE BUT
        THE HEREAFTER

Did you happen to see the conversation on TV between Sec. of State Colin Powell and Democratic Rep. Sherrod Brown of Ohio concerning Bush's National Guard AWOL charges?

Although the senator carefully said Bush may have been AWOL from the National Guard, Powell nearly went ballistic as he coldly glared at the senator and refused to answer. This occurred during Powell's testimony before the House International Relations Committee.

Powell's anger was more than just being put on the spot with his boss. It smacked of fear and hypocrisy. He did not want the words he had spoken so strongly 30 years ago to become public and have to eat them.

"I am angry that so many of the sons of the powerful and well-placed... managed to wangle slots in Reserve and National Guard units... Of the many tragedies of Vietnam, this raw class discrimination strikes me as the most damaging to the ideal that all Americans are created equal and owe equal allegiance to their country." (Colin Powell's autobiography, My American Journey, p. 148)
Just what do these missing months of National Guard service mean 30 years later? They mean just the same thing that all of Bush's lies mean. He is untrustworthy and we have suffered enough from them.

For links to many articles and facts concerning his dereliction of Guard duty: http://www.awolbush.com/ Bush has a pattern of lying going back years. Remember how he lied about the drunken driving charge? In addition, he has refused to answer questions about all of the rest of his wild and crazy "youthful exuberances."

It has been claimed that if those wild and crazy years had been exposed by his lap dog media, he would never have gotten the Republican nomination for president. So many horrible things might have been avoided had the media done its job.

Sept. 12, 2001 | WASHINGTON -- They went to great pains not to sound as though they were telling the president "We told you so."

But on Wednesday, two former senators, the bipartisan co-chairs of a Defense Department-chartered commission on national security, spoke with something between frustration and regret about how White House officials failed to embrace any of the recommendations to prevent acts of domestic terrorism delivered earlier this year. http://propagandamatrix.com/commission_warned_bush.html

"They" in this case were former Senators Gary Hart, D-Colo., and Warren Rudman, R-N.H. So much of what happened on the fatal 9/11 was predicted by the bipartisan 14-member panel they co-chaired.

This Commission on Domestic Terrorism was put together in 1998 by former President Bill Clinton and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, R-Ga. It was charged to make recommendations to ensure our security.

Among the possible dangers from terrorist, the Commission predicted:

        * A direct attack against American citizens on American soil is likely over the next quarter century.

        * The use of stolen aircraft to cause massive casualties.

        * Current controls on transfers of pathogens that could be used in biological terrorism are inadequate and controls on related equipment are nonexistent.

Bush had their report for eight and one half months BEFORE 9/11 but ignored it. Congress had been taking the Commission's recommendations seriously until Bush told it to back off because V. P. Cheney would handle things. The evidence shows Cheney shelved it.

Beyond 9/11 and Afghanistan, Bush lied to get support for an invasion of Iraq. He is still not cooperating fully with the committee investigating 9/11. He has systematically distorted scientific fact in the service of policy goals on environment, health, biomedical research and nuclear weapons.

Until public outcry became deafening, Bush was determined to institute electronic voting for the military. The firm hired to program and administer the electron voting was Saudi. http://www.blackboxvoting.org

Bush brags about being a "war president" yet is unable to truthfully explain the reasons he took the country to war. There is fear that there may be other terrorist attacks.

Can this country afford a congenital liar for another 4 years?
Feelings, even beyond the grave, run strongly that we cannot.
