It's
official now. We are a Theocracy. Human rights died the death of a singed
monkey. Following the coup of the legislative, judicial, executive and
media branches of government by the neo-con's junta, our Constitution has
been systematically trashed.
Despite the Constitutional law separating
church and state, laws have been passed that intermingle the two. In the
present case of Terri Schiavo, religion leapt over our judiciary and Florida
law. With the full force of the media behind it religion has trumped the
constitutional rights and freedom of us all.
Senator/Doctor Frist from the Senate "diagnoses"
Schiavo by video camera and decrees that she is A-OK. Tom Delay from the
House declares that, "God brought Terri Schiavo's struggle to the
forefront to help elevate the visibility of what's going on in America."
Perhaps
there is a beneficial Spirit that did this so Americans could get a taste
of how nasty it becomes when religion decimates reason.
We are horrified as those who call themselves
pro-life, are threatening to kill judges, legislators and Schiavo's husband
-- all in the name of God.
Most Democratic lawmakers are sitting this
one out and have been criticized for it. Some have said that this should
never have been brought to Congress and they were staging a silent protest.
"It is always wise to err on the side
of life." That's what Bush says today as he spills his crocodile tears
over the TV cameras and into our living rooms. In a grandstand play to
appear as a sensitive, feeling person, he flew back from Texas to sign
a bill that once more put the Terri Schiavo case on hold.
Yet,
as governor of Texas, this master of lies and weasel words signed a bill
that allowed hospitals and doctors to decide to let infants and children
die by removal of feeding tubes, even though the parents did not want them
to. Of course, this was to save money for the insurance
companies.
And as governor of Texas, Bush mocked Carla
Faye Tucker, a woman he refused to save from the death chamber after she
had begged him for clemency.
Remember the Iraq war which was premeditated?
Bush invaded Iraq and told us lies to justify it, and the media
all went along with his lies. So many lives lost and still the country
is unstable and people are dying for his intentional and lying errors.
All over the world the Bush policies on
the environment are taking their toll on living things now and the
worst of the horror he has initiated is yet to come. Let the acid rain
fall and the mercury poison the land and water and people, he doesn't even
give it a thought.
And what of the many women in Third World
countries who have suffered and died because Bush withdrew family planning
help from the United Nation's programs; or the Afghani women whose plight
is still ignored.
Since the majority of people have faulted
Congress and Bush for their butting in on the Schiavo matter, the question
is asked, "Why would such politically savvy neo-cons do something
this dumb?
First remember that Bush and company never
admit that they do anything wrong even if the whole country believes they
did, so it was nothing for them to contrive using a family's tragedy to
further their own aims.
Tom Delay was getting clobbered in all
the media. When Bush announced he was flying back just to sign a bill,
ostensibly to save one woman's live, the entire, slavish media immediately
dropped their hot pursuit of Tom Delay's malfeasants and ran panting after
the Schiavo situation, Congress and Bush.
In addition, by getting the media to flock
to one issue, the anniversary of the invasion of Iraq and all the protests
went nearly unnoticed as did the killing spree of an Indian lad. However,
it still kept current with Michael Jackson.
