Scientific reports can be rather interesting documents to read. There's usually a quite concise agenda or protocol that is followed. The idea is to present the question, then tell the experimental parameters, the results and follow with the discussion. Of course this is a generalization of a scientific presentation as each differs somewhat depending on the type and nature of the research. However, what is common to all is that factual evidence is given. Conclusions of the researcher are concise and truthful as s/he has observed. That means that other scientists can disagree with the conclusions, build on the work or they can conduct similar research and come to different conclusions. What a scientist never does is change the wording of someone's research paper to change the conclusions. But that is just what one of Bush's appointees did. Continuing in the Bush tradition of terradiddle and outright lies, Philip A. Cooney, "removed or adjusted descriptions of climate research that government scientists and their supervisors, including some senior Bush administration officials, had already approved. In many cases, the changes appeared in the final reports." The Bushies are not about to change their lying ways. They will intensify their policy of charging Democrats/Liberals/Moderates with attacks against Jesus. Their mantra continues to claim that Jesus bashing is the intent of any criticism against any Republican or any Republican program or agenda. Remember how the same tactic was and is still used to attack anyone who does not follow the Bush party line concerning the Iraq war and homeland security by accusing them of being traitors? This theme is now being intensified with the use of the term, 9/11, to intensify the fear and insinuate that Democrats sided with the terrorists. What really makes the religious attack so effective is that every seven days there comes a Sunday where their stable of ministers and pastors take up the mantra from their pulpits. This tends to legitimize the charges heard during the week from the media that the Democrats support the Devil's deeds. It does no good for any D/L/M to deny each charge or get into shouting matches on cable or network. Better to take from the Repugnut's play book and respond with affirmative points on the Democrat's record and agenda. Listeners will recognize that Democrat's deeds are better than Republican words. Dems should specify that they do not apologize for supporting and helping those in need since it is the sincerest expression of their spiritual beliefs. They should have examples of how social programs keep crime down; feed infants and children and give hope and health to families in need. Here's something to ponder. In GQ's July issue, Lisa DePaulo relates her interviews with the American military guards that were assigned to Saddam in Iraq. They found him friendly and talkative, and he even gave them advice. Despite his incarceration he always insisted that he was still the president of Iraq and would be returned to that office. To some this sounds as if the man lived in another reality. Remind you of anyone? Saddam appears to share his geniality traits and refusal to face the truth with Bush. Both are masters of using terradiddle to fake out their audiences by appearing to be really nice guys; both condone torture; both have little regard for the thousands of humans they have killed or injured. Both exploit rather than conserve the environment and both, unfeelingly, are willing to sacrifice thousands in their pursuit of power. 2005-026 Copyright 2005 Renee T. Louise and Ruth M.
