FOOL US ONCE
Shame on you, Bush of Texas, you are still trying to fool us. Again with the Rove-words of propaganda, you lace your speech with the word freedom 21 times. Still insinuating that we are idiots, you connect Iraq to September 11th, five times. Actually, most of his speech this week sounded just like ones he's made before. He attempts to make us yell "hoo-rah!" just like a bunch of bullies salivating over beating the crap out of somebody to make them feel big. Sure, we do have a great country and we as a people are easily swayed by calls for patriotism. However there must be a limit to how much unadulterated crap we can keep on believing. Here we are with a staggering national debt, a country with a load of hurt. We are being fed a mixture of Jesus saves from the rychus right while the military industrial complex directs Bush's war against the infidels of the East on our credit card. The newly burgeoning nation of China is buying up our IOUs as our jobs follow our industries into other countries where labor is cheap and taxes are avoided. While here our city's infrastructure crumbles as many roads and homes decay. Still our young men and women are being sacrificed on the Bush alter of oil and power in lands far from our shores. We are told that our yearning to bring them home and stop the killing is unpatriotic; that we are giving aid and comfort to the enemy. Meanwhile the media mostly spouts the Rovian pap and crap that we are bringing freedom and democracy to the Muslim world. Yet we know that they do not want us there. We know Bush started the Iraq war which was planned long before 9/11. We know that despite the valor and cour age and efforts of our troops, what is being accomplished in Iraq is recruitment of Islamic patriots to the terrorist cause. We know that we are still not allowed to view the flag-draped coffins symbolic of our failure to stop Bush in '04. http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/nationdamned.html Each one of us can and must do something. Next election, we can change the composition of the House of Representatives where each member must run for re-election in '06. Each one of us has a Congressperson for her/his own district. Each one of us can personally work to put a progressive/liberal/democrat/independent in place of the Republican neo-cons that now hold so many seats.
