| It works every
time. Just let some news detrimental to the Gopsters get some traction
and they divert it with a proclamation or something that takes the media
down another path.
True, most of the time it's a missing blonde but this time no natural diversion showed up so the Bushies were forced to play one of their trump cards - the new nominee for the Supreme Court - a guy they've had on tap for some time. They'd planned to unleash Judge Roberts on the Senate close to the beginning of the next session of the Supreme Court to shorten the timen for investigation of his record, but they needed to divert the attention of the Mushrooms from Rove.
This is the first news event showing the perfidy of Bush that has ever gained any traction with the media. It is the first news even that has been covered sufficiently by the media to affect the polls. Sure it~Rs because it's a story close to the heart of reporters. One of them is in jail for falling on her sword rather than give up a source. Democrats have the advantage for the first time so for Pete~Rs sake, guys, don't blow it. Look here, guys. We voters have been treated like Mushrooms - kept in the dark and fed manure -- too damn long and we are sick of it. Now that the media has actually latched on to a story that shows the country just what a big liar Bush is, don't let them drop the ball while you mutually masturbate about Judge Roberts. Besides, this nomination is just a drop in the bucket of the hurt to come when the Chief Justice slot opens up and Bush nominates a woman who would put Lucrecia Borgia to shame when it comes to poisoning women. Along with all this, Bush is trying to extend the odious Patriot Act strictures while we are concentrating on the news du jour. Note that Vermont's Rep. Bernie Sanders had the votes to kill the part that allowed the feds access to our library records, BUT THE REPUGS BLOCKED HIS AMENDMENT FROM COMING TO THE FLOOR FOR A VOTE. Bush still keeps Karl Rove close in a position to receive classified information even after Rove outed Valerie Plame. Gopsters still go on TV with their lying talking points. http://www.fortwayne.com/mld/newssentinel/news/editorial/12186844.htm The Gopsters are quick to claim that President Clinton is to blame for FBI errors, stating that Clinton shrunk the number of FBI operators. True or not, that still would not come close to the damage done by Rove as many agents and their contacts were rolled up or killed when Plame was exposed in Bob Novak's article. Meanwhile many Americans are still Mushrooms, diverted from realizing the threat of nuclear war from China. Warm and cozy in the darkness of the manure pile sure feels better than defending their birthright - it's politically correct and patriotic to boot. They love to listen to the siren song of bush-spin lulling them into oblivion.
